| The Shadow of War |
War arrives, a shattering storm,
A chaos birthed in human form.
It tears through fields, it scars the skies,
It silences dreams, it muffles cries.
The ground runs red with hopes undone,
Where mothers mourn their absent sons.
The air is thick with smoke and fear,
A world once bright now dark and drear.
Cannon's roar and soldier's plight,
The endless clash of wrong and right.
Each side believes their cause is just,
While earth absorbs their blood and dust.
Homes are leveled, hearts are torn,
A generation lost, forlorn.
The laughter fades, replaced by screams,
In war’s cold grip, no room for dreams.
The children watch with hollowed eyes,
Their future stolen by the lies
That power speaks to stoke the flame,
A ruthless, never-ending game.
But even war cannot erase
The yearning for a kinder place.
In shattered streets, in hearts oppressed,
The seeds of peace still find their rest.
For every bomb, a flower grows,
In every tear, a river flows.
And though war scorches all it sees,
It cannot kill humanity’s pleas.
Oh, let the guns and swords be still,
Bury the hate, the need to kill.
For in the silence after war,
We find the strength to heal once more.
